Training Requirements for Newly Hired Drug & Alcohol Therapists
"Newly Hired" drug and alcohol therapists must complete the following mandatory trainings through the Pennsylvania Department of Health within one year of beginning employment.
- PCPC (PA Client Placement Criteria)
- ASAM/LOCI (American Society of Addiction Medicine Placement Criteria / Level of Care Index)
- Confidentiality
- HIV/AIDS
- TB/STD
- CPR Certification and First Aid Training
- Screening Assessment (SCA Offices only)
- Addictions 101 (SCA Offices only)
- PCPC Practicum (SCA Offices only)
- Case Management Overview (SCA Offices only)
- Confidentiality Practicum (SCA Offices only)
Training Requirements for Veteran Drug & Alcohol Therapists
Veteran drug and alcohol therapists must complete a minimum of 25 training hours each calendar year (1/1-12/31). Additionally, CPR/First Aid and Universal Precautions certification must be renewed every 2 years.
