In-House Training Opportunity
This course is designed to strengthen mental health service providers’ skills in delivering treatment to adolescents, adults, parents and families. This training centers on learning about the various needs and issues of substance abusing clients. The goal of the training is to learn how to help clients change their behaviors by directly exploring and resolving their ambivalence. This training will assist clients, parents and other care providers in increasing their insights into working with substance abusing clients. Topics covered include an in depth look at motivational interviewing and a variety of ways to adapt motivational interviewing with motivational enhancement, ways to implement motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement and putting motivational interviewing and motivational enhancement to use in practical situations. Participants will leave the training with an in depth understanding of how to help clients, parents and professionals better intervene and help substance abusing clients.
*PCS provides light refreshments and a vending machine is available at all trainings. Lunch will not be provided. Please come prepared with a packed lunch as a short "working" lunch break will be offered.
