PT TSS - Therapeutic Staff Support
Therapeutic staff support (TSS) services provide one-on-one interventions to a child or adolescent at home, school, day care, other community-based programs, or community settings when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment or educational setting. Specific therapeutic staff support services include: crisis intervention techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcements, emotional support, time structuring activities, time out strategies and passive restraints (if necessary).
The TSS will receive administrative supervision with the BHRS Administrator as needed. Clinical supervision is mandated one hour per week. The TSS will meet with the Mobile Therapist (MT) or Behavior Specialist (BSC) for individual case consulation for a 1/2 hour session every other week.
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Model treatment interventions established by the MT or BSC as documented in the treatment plan.
- Provide specific interventions in the home, school, or community settings as outlined in the treatment plan.
- Support Wrap Around team, school personnel, and family's efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent.
- Develop progress notes describing each client contact and how that contact relates to treatment goals.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home, or in other community settings, and particiption in Inter-agency/team meetings when necessary.
This is a part time growing to full time position.
Required Experience
A Bachelor's degree in human services.
OR
Any Bachelor's degree with at least one year of FT paid work experience in a CASSP system
OR
Any Associates's degree, or sixty credits toward a Bachelor's degree, with at least three years FT paid work experience in a CASSP system.
OR
Licensed Registered Nurses who have one year FT paid work experience in a CASSP system.
OR
Licensed Practical Nurses with three years FT paid work experience in a CASSP system.
CASSP Experience is defined as working in the MH, MR, Early Intervention, C&Y, Juvenile Justice, Education, Drug & Alcohol, Day Care or Health Systems.
