TSS - Therapeutic Staff Support
Therapeutic staff support (TSS) services provide one-on-one interventions to a child or adolescent at home, school, day care, other community-based programs, or community settings when the behavior without this intervention would require a more restrictive treatment or educational setting. Specific therapeutic staff support services include: crisis intervention techniques, immediate behavioral reinforcements, emotional support, time structuring activities, time out strategies and passive restraints (if necessary).
The TSS will receive administrative supervision with the BHRS Administrator as needed. Clinical supervision is mandated for one and a half hours per week with the Mobile Therapist (MT) or Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC).
Tasks and responsibilities include:
- Model treatment interventions established by the MT or BSC as documented in the treatment plan.
- Provide specific interventions in the home, school, or community settings as outlined in the treatment plan.
- Support BHRS team, school personnel, and family's efforts to stabilize the child or adolescent.
- Develop progress notes describing each client contact and how that contact relates to treatment goals.
- Collaborate with other members of the treatment team and other professionals working in the home, or in other community settings, and participation in Inter-agency/team meetings when necessary.
